City Sightseeing project
Cloudworks Solutions Ltd has been operating for just over 12 months and with its newly formed team has over 30 years experience in delivering travel technology to travel agents, tour operators and industry suppliers. Cloudworks specialises in delivering product to the travel industry, including Websites, Social Media and Mobile Apps.
Cloudworks, Sales and Marketing Director, Paul Middleton said, we wanted to bring exciting, innovative, quality and value product to the industry rather than putting clients through an often long drawn out, costly and painful project experience. We wanted to be different and bring a refreshing change to the Industry, it’s tough times out there and we need to be delivering value added product and services to bring a fast ROI.
City Sightseeing was formed in 1998, although the parent company The Ensign Group, has been in existence for over 30 years, and our very first tour, in Seville, is still going strong. From just 4 tours in 2000 to 90+ for 2010, our bright red, cheerful buses are now a well-known sight in many of the cities around the world.
City Sightseeing Sales and Marketing Director, Mandy Gaughan said, the Cloudworks App enabled us to deliver a feature rich, informative, social networking and transactional based service to our clients on multiple platforms, including the Iphone, Android and Nokia.
Our client base is worldwide and the challenge we had was that they all used different mobile smart phones! We needed to work in partnership with a company that had the skill set and experience to deploy across multiple platforms and languages at a fast pace. Cloudworks App has enabled us to reach out to our worldwide client base, all they have to do is download the “free” App.
We can now further enrich the experience of our clients and increase our “up-sell” opportunity both pre trip and also while the clients are on tour. CloudworkApp can easily provide tour guide content, including both rich content and audio guides for the city tours. One of the exciting features of the Cloudworks App product is that we can now introduce a “SightSeeing Community” using the powerful social networking functionality. Our clients can take pictures, add text and content and then upload to our community and share with other travellers. Postcards can be sent to their family and friends and in return they can be introduced and sign up to the community, this creating an opportunity to attract new clients and increase our revenue.
Above all we have been provided with a CMS that gives us control as a company to manage the content delivered to the smartphone. We look forward to working with Cloudworks on future projects.
